QYMA and COVID

QYMA will be staged in venues which have COVID safe plans and operating at 100% capacity with allocated seating for all participants.  Please note:

  • Ensemble conductors will need to provide an electronic copy of their ensemble attendance including staff to organisers 2 weeks before their section and abide by the staging and movement restrictions as directed by the QYMA organisers.  More details regarding contact tracing for schools and movements will be provided in the confirmation documents
  • Audience members will be required to purchase tickets online – details can be updated prior to attendance on the actual night and seating is by pre-allocation only.
  • Please be assured QYMA is prioritising the wellbeing of contestants, conductors, staff and audience and directions by QYMA and venue staff must be adhered to.
  • Information regarding COVID is subject to change and will be updated accordingly in line with government guidelines.

Remember the COVID ‘new normal’:

  • Stay home when sick and get tested & inform QYMA manager so a refund can be organised
  • For audience maintain physical distancing (1.5m) when entering and exiting the venue + wear a mask when distancing is not possible.  For schools, they are to remain in their ‘school bubble’ and maintain social distancing with other schools and audience.
  • Maintain good hand hygiene – high touch points at QYMA events will be regularly cleaned
  • Ensure that you provide accurate contact details when requested to allow for effective contact tracing
  • Flexibility in knowing that we all need to rapidly respond to outbreaks so understanding if QYMA nights need to be adjusted / cancelled
  • Comply with any travel restrictions from hot spots and ensure that if you have been to a hot spot that you should not attend a QYMA night.

Please also note that QYMA and its venues have implemented all Queensland Health required and recommended control measures in relation to the COVID-19 global pandemic, by entering a QYMA night all entrants and visitors acknowledge and accept that there currently remains an unquantifiable risk of transmission of COVID-19. All entrants and visitors are assumed to have assessed this risk of transmission, including through consideration of their own health condition, in making the decision to attend at QYMA night.
